    Snow..............

    March 02, 2005, 7.30 AM

The sound of happy children, that is what woke me up and told me there was snow. But how much I could never have thought of...........

The night before I walked at  my dog, at 10.30, just before going to bed.

It was snowing, that dust-like white stuff that looked like icing sugar. The sort of snow that can go on and on but which could never created a thick blanket, covering every little bit in the village. How wrong was I!!

When I looked outside, I could not believe my eyes, so much snow! Childeren were running around, palying, laughing. Adults were out on the street having as much fun as the kids. No one could stay indoors. I fed my zoo and let my dog out in the back yard. She became instantly a little puppy, running around like mad.............

Not long after I took my digital camera, called the dog and off we went, out in the snow. Dog is always on a lead but this time, with no borders everywhere, she walked free, enjoying the cold white snow. I walked, talked, took pictures and felt like being in the middle of a fairy tale. Unbelievable beautiful. Not cold, more like a Spring day, no wind but still snowing.

On my way to my mother I forgot all about the slippery raod and yes, fell twice!! Gosh, my hip, was it well enough to handle it? The X-rays of Monday showed a healthy new hip which still had to grow in. But fortunately all went well and no other damage then a sore knee and, later on that day, aching muscles!

Mum couldn't stop talking about the snow, she has trouble seeing things but this, waering sunglasses, was not a real problem to her. After our daily chat, I walked a few kilometres and took more pictures which I am now sharing with you.

When will this happen again, so much snow? It is very rare in Holland. Have a look and enjoy it as much as I did.

    Slowly but steady

Sunday morning, the night did bring us snow. What a lovely surprise as yesterday it was all gone.

I woke up by the sound of the church bell's,then silence, no traffic in my little village. The cats noticed at the other side of the door that I was awake and called me. The dog was waiting, she is never in a hurry.

I still enjoy my days off but one week to go and I am back at work, finally!! I notice I am slowely returning to the world of the active. The past week was even "busy"!! On tuesday I drove my car, for the first time since the hip operation. It was nice, car thought so too as the engine ran immediately, good make uh? Tuesday was also a day for food shopping, Mum and I ran out of stock. With one and half lorry, and after a cup of tea/coffee at the bakery, we went home again.

Wednesday a visit to the Pedicure, I walk on silk again, nice.

Thursday I took my dog to the dog parlour for a good brush. Not been able to sit on my knees for 6 weeks, she needed a brus and a nail clip. As a true Kuvasz she did not like this visit at all! It was her first visit in the 9 years of her existence. At the time of the nail clip, we struggled but yes, I am the boss.......... But from then on, all went well and she behaved nicely. Fortunately she isn't aggressive, just a bit stubborn at times (of whom does she reminds me off????????????)

Friday a visit to the hairdresser, about time too! The new hair that returned after the Chemo, is of a much better quality and now I wanted to see if I could grow it longer. But again I looked like a worn out housekeeper so wanted a good cut. It looks nice again and I am happy with my new coupe.

Saturday houskeeping, window cleaning, mopping etc. etc. I now can enjoy a relaxed Sunday with a snowy walk with dog. The sun is shining, what a wonderful day, what a wondeful life!!

    Introduction

    Good morning everybody!

After a restless night due to my hip (gosh, wouldn't it be nice to be able to sleep all curled up??) and listening to the storm, my dog anounced at 9 AM that it was time to get up.

Again walking was so much better then yesterday. The difference in height between the two legs is getting less and less. Now the muscles have to get stronger. But when you see me walking, you can hardly tell I had a hip replacement only 4,5 weeks ago!

The weather is bad guys. Very bad; a mix of hail and rain and tree branches were scattered all over the place, so cleaned that first, then I looked aftr my little zoo. My breakfast is still waiting.

Indoors it is nice, warm and cosy, dog is snoring (she gets older now) and I look forward to my favourite breakfast, yummy. Then, let's see what the day brings.......

I might be working on my website, I am designing a new lay out but it will take a while before I can publish it.

The current one is about my life which has been quiet eventful. You will find many different pages, eg: Today, Daily Life, News Letters, Cancers, a Forum, Photo Album and a Guest Book.

The music on the site is by Gunnel Mauritzson, a Swedish Folk Singer. I went to a life concert which took place during a beautiful Summer in Sweden, in a wooden church from the 13th. Centrury. The countryside was beautiful: hills, a lake, sunset, a deer. The muic touched my heart and everytime I listen to it, I can get tears in my eyes.

Please feel free to visit my website.
